Thermostatic Bath Taps

Every year many people, mainly children are badly scalded in the bathroom. This is usually due to the UK habit of filling a bath with hot water, then topping up with cold water until the bathing temperature is reached, if a child climbs into this bathing water before the cold water is added it can result in severe scalding. A campaign has been running for a number of years now to encourage the Government to legislate, making it law for plumbers to fit thermostatic valves in bathrooms, for filling baths and to control showering, this legislation is likely to come into force in April 2010.
