A romantic bath is all about evoking the senses. So it’s important to find a scent that is most relaxing for you/ your partner.
Studies have found that people find the following smells most soothing:
- Lavender
- Chamomile
- Pine
- Jasmine
- Vanilla
If you are struggling to find the perfect scent, and want to make this bath extra special, Lush have a beautiful collection of scented bath bombs, to choose from.
Order Or Pick Up The Romantic Props For The Most Romantic Bath Ever
You should be able to order or even pick up some of the props (Candles, bubble bath and of course the Champagne, chocolates & strawberries) from your local supermarket.
Rose petals & incense might have to be ordered online. Although this may be a pain, the rose petals will add the ultimate romantic vibes.
Rose petals can be found on amazon for as little as £8.59
Incense can be bought from Etsy from £1.65 – bargain!
Time To Set The Scene For Ultimate Romance
Grab your candles, whether they are tealight, tall candle sticks or a Yankee – candles will create relaxing and spa-like ambience. What’s more romantic than flickering candlelight?
Once you have your candles of choice, decorate the room with them. We recommend placing them on a flat surface for safety.
Group candles on reflective surfaces, shelves on the corners of the bath (if there is space).
Tip *light the candles last*
Begin To Run The Bath
Begin to run the bath. Temperature is completely preferential, so find the perfect water temp and wait until the bottom of the tub has been filled with water.
Now pour in plenty of bubble bath. You want enough to have a good froth of bubbleage and if you’re normal and don’t know what that means. Here’s a picture below:
Find The Perfect Playlist
So, we’ve covered touch, taste sight and smell. Now it’s time to think about the background noise. Spotify has a great selection of relaxation playlists.
Your choice of music is important. Make sure you choose something super soothing or a playlist you know your partner will love.
Add The Finishing Touches
Now that everything else is in place it’s time to add the finishing touches and create the perfect romantic bath.
Start by burning the incense, this will fill your bathroom with a beautiful aromatic scent.
Then pop the bath bomb into the bathtub and watch it fizz. Once the fizzing has stopped its time to sprinkle the rose petals.
Sprinkle them generously and if you have any remaining have a trial of petals from the door to the bath, you know, like they do in the films.
Now all that’s left to do is leave your partner to relax in pure bliss for the next 30 minutes or jump in their with them for a afternoon of fizz & fun!
